Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Rtd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury has blamed the candidates for spoiling the election environment.He made the remarks at an view exchange meeting with the administration and law enforcement agencies at Chittagong Circuit House at 10am yesterday ahead of the election of a ward of the post city. He said politicians do not want to give up even a single councilor post when they contest elections. Then they forget about neutrality. They want to win the election anyway.
Shahadat Hossain claimed that neither the Election Commission nor the administration was responsible for the deterioration of the election environment. The voters will decide whom to vote. At that time, the commissioner said, the election is a matter of competition.
