The leaders of the Hajj Pilgrims Welfare Council, Chittagong expressed resentment over the cancellation of the scheduled Hajj flights from the port city and the capital city recently without prior notices.
In a statement of the council said despite green signal of the Prime Minister to restore the abandoned Hajj camp of Pahartali in city , the directives yet to be complied by the concerned authorities reasons best known to them.
The statement said that the off-loaded Hajj pilgrims won’t be faced any miseries if the erstwhile Haji camp of Pahartali is restored at this time. According to Bangladesh Biman, a total of 19 hajj flights cancelled till August 9 last. In the meantime, Biman authority permitted for additional 14 flights from Saudi Govt , sources added.
The HPWC urged intervention of the Prime Minister to mitigate the miseries of the Hajis . The council also demanded included third airlines to carry the hajis for smooth transportation of pilgrims.
The signatories of the statement include President of HPWC Ahmadul Islam chowdhury, Secretary General Principal Dr.Abdul Karim, Dr. Saleh Ahmed Suleman, Alhaj Shafiqur Rahman , Prof. Dr.AKM Saifuddin, Momtaz Kamal Chowdhury , Alhaj Ahmed Hossain, Abu Mohammad Nurul Islam, Alhaj Jamiruddin Chowdhury, Dr.Eftekaruddin Chowdhury , sources said.
