Ovibhabok Oikya Forum will form human chains and bring out processions at all the educational institutions in Dhaka on July 20 demanding cancellation of Class-V completion examination from this year, stoppage of coaching business and governing body elections in private institutions.
The leaders of the Forum announced the
programmes at a press briefing held at the Jatiya Press Club on Monday. The Forum Chairman Ziaul Kabir Dulu read the written speech in the briefing.
The Forum Vice-President Md Selim Uddin, Dilara Chowdhury, Md Belayet Hossain, SI Majumder, Shawgot-ul-Alam, Tania Syeed, Shahidul Islam, Abul Hossain and Habibur Rahman were present at the programme, among others.
Ziaul Kabir Dulu said that they would launch tougher movement if the government did not take any initiative to stop the examination before July 10.
The Forum will hold way side rallies, view exchange programmes and leaflet distribution at all the educational institutions in the capital city.
Dulu alleged that the government violated the National Education Policy-2010, as there is no direction to take the Class-V completion examination.
He said that, the Education Ministry handed over the responsibility of the students (Class V1 to VIII) to the Primary and Mass Education Ministry. The Primary and Mass Education Ministry will conduct the primary education completion examination after completing class eight. So, it is illogical to hold the examination after Class-V, he said.
