A four member Canadian Professors delegation led by Dr Maria H Rioux Distinguished Research Professor of School of Health Policy and Management of the York University, Canada on Monday called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office of the university. During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interests particularly they discussed about taking initiatives to increase academic collaboration between Dhaka University and York University, Canada. They discussed about students having various kinds of disabilities, their education and career opportunities. They underscored the need to provide opportunities to disable students in academic and employment sectors. They also emphasized that teachers need to be innovative to teach disable students by approaching different effective tools and methods of teaching and learning.
The Canadian Professors mentioned that they have been implementing projects funded by Canadian Foreign Affairs Department on disable students of India, Nepal and Bangladesh. They showed keen interest to work closely with Dhaka University as well.
