Canada on Monday assured Bangladesh of its continued support for the improvement of the living standard of its people.
The assurance came when newly appointed Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Benoit-Pierre Laramee met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Sangsad Bhaban office.
After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri briefed reporters.
“We appreciate your commitment to people. We want to become a major development partner and we would continue to provide assistance to Bangladesh for the improvement of the living
standard of its people,” the Press Secretary quoted the Canadian High Commissioner as saying.
Laramee highly appreciated Bangladesh’s tremendous successes in different fields, including healthcare, millennium development goals (MDGs) and information technology.
