Begum Rokeya University (BRU), Rangpur has launched experimental broadcast of Campus Radio at the university campus recently. BRU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah formally inaugurated the campus radio at a function held at the administrative building on the campus.
Experimental transmission of the Campus Radio could be listened through internet by logging-in at www.brucr.net, a BRU press release said.
The Campus Radio began its experimental broadcast with transmission of the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On the occasion, the Vice-chancellor said BRU became the first among all public universities of the country to begin transmission of Campus Radio aiming at inspiring the young generations in turning the month of national mourning into strength.
The Campus Radio would start regular transmission of various programmes on education, entertainment, culture, campus news broadcast and build social awareness on various issues. Dean of the Faculty of Arts Prof Dr Parimal Chandra Barman, Head of the Department of Statistics Dr Md. Rahidul Islam, Assistant Professor of the Department of Accounting and Information Systems Apel Mahmud, teachers and officials of the university were present.
