Campaign for the polls in five pourasavas under Netrakona district is going on in full swing by all the mayoral and councilor candidates.
All the contesting candidates are making door-to door visit to convince the voters as part of their last times polls campaign.
The five pourasavas are : Netrakona sader, Modan, Mohanganj, Durgapur and Kendua. All the candidates also setup makeshift polls campaign offices in different areas of the fives pourasavas. The campaign offices were covered with candidates posters.The supporters of the candidates were seen doing polls campaign by using loud speakers from the campaign centers.
District election office sources said, a total of 15 candidates are contesting for mayoral post , 167 candidates for councilor posts and 48 for the post of councilors reserved for women.
Meanwhile, all the three mayoral candidates, who are contesting for the post of mayor of Netrakona sader pourasava, have given commitment to the voters that they will build up a service -oriented and corruption -free pourasava administration if they are voted to power.
They also expressed their determination that they will improve the civic amenities of the pourasavas side by side with taking time-befitting development projects for fulfilling long-felt demands of the local people.
The three mayoral candidates namely Alhaj Nazrul Islam Khan (election symbol boat) SM Moniruzzaman Dudu (election symbol Sheaf of paddy) and Sajib Sarker Ratan (election symbol spade ) and made their commitments in a series of electioneering rallies held in different areas of the Netrakona sader pourasava yesterday.
