Awami League nominated mayor candidate in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) election Dr Selina Hayat Ivy termed the election ground as the trial ground. “I’ll get justice in this ground if I’ve done any development here.”
She said it while addressing a wayside election rally at Madanganj bus stand under Ward No. 22 here on Saturday afternoon.
Ivy said: Boat is the election symbol of Sheikh Hasina. Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has given me boat.
She called upon all irrespective of political differences to vote for ‘Boat’ for maintaining continuity in development process.
Ivy said: Please! Give your judgement for the work which I’ve done over the last five years. Replying to a question, Ivy said it that would be proved on December 22 whom the voters wanted. At that time, Narayanganj district Awami League President Abdul Hye, Sramik League President Kajimuddin, Jatiya Party leader Bacchu Mia and local Awami League leaders were present.
Ivy met voters at Saleh Nagar, Shantinagar and Dorisonakanda areas.
BNP nominated mayor candidate in Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) election Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan has alleged that his workers are facing intimidation and threat.
He demanded keeping of the election ground free from terrorism. Sakhawat made the allegation during an election campaign at Ward No. 4 on Saturday.
The BNP nominated candidate said: Our leaders and workers are very hard working. A unity has developed between the voters and the BNP workers centering the upcoming election. Situation is still peaceful here. I want to tell the Election Commission and the law enforcing agencies to remain cautious so that election atmosphere is not spoiled in any way. They must keep a vigilance so that the ruling party workers cannot harass the BNP workers.
He also demanded impartial role of the administration in the election.
