A gang of unidentified muggers snatched a foreign made camera and a mobile phone set from a senior photojournalist in the city’s Tejgaon Truck Stand area on Wednesday evening.
They also mugged around Tk 2000 in cash and some necessary papers
from his possession during the attack. The victim has been identified as Mizanur Rahman Khan, Senior Photo Journalist of the Daily Independent.
Mozammel Haque, In-Charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost, said “Mizanur was pulled down from his rickshaw and assaulted by snatchers, who were armed with guns and machetes and forced to part with his belongings. Local people recovered him and quickly brought him to DMCH.”
He has filed a complaint with the Tejgaon Industrial Police Station in this connec
