UNB, Dhaka :BNP spokesman Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday warned that the government will make a big mistake if it treats their repeated calls for talks over the country’s political crisis as their weakness.”BNP wants to have the crisis resolved through dialogue as it doesn’t want violence in the country. If the government considers it as our weakness it’ll be its blunder,” he said.Fakhrul, also the BNP acting secretary general, made the remarks while addressinga briefing at its Nayapaltan central office. He said, they will be left with no option but to hit the streets together with people if the government ignores their dialogue offer.”Awami League will have to come forward for overcoming the political deadlock. Dialogue is the only effective way to have a suitable solution to the problem,” the BNP leader added.Fakhrul slammed Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader for his comment that political parties will not be allowed to hold rallies anywhere except four designated points at the city’s Suhrawardy Udyan.”The government is not usually allowing us to hold rallies in Dhaka city. Now the Road Transport Minister has said the rallies will have to be held only at a few venues. He has no jurisdiction to say that,” he said. The BNP spokesman claimed that Quader’s remark has exposed that the illegal government’s all ministers believe in despotism. The government is going to take the move as they are trying to re-establish one-party rule by snatching people’s all democratic rights, he alleged.Talking to reporters during his visit to Gabtoli Bus stand area on Wednesday, Quader said a board meeting of Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) at Nagar Bhaban decided to impose a ban on holding any big rally on the streets to keep the city roads free. “Plitical parties are allowed to hold rallies at four points of Suhrawardy Udyan, not by blocking city roads.”
