As Bangladesh is one of most vulnerable countries due to adverse impact of climate change, it needs to launch a massive campaign to maintain environment balance to ensure safe and healthy planet for the future generation, said Chief Whip of Jatiaya Sangsad ASM Firoz.
“I urge all to work together to gear up environmental campaigns to protect our planet from any threat caused by negative impact of climate change and different other manmade hazards,” he told a discussion in Patuakhali on Friday.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) and Department of Forest jointly organized the discussion on the occasion of a three-day Tree Fair, which began today as part of nationwide tree plantation programme.

In an effort to enhance coverage of afforestation across the country, tree fairs are held during rainy season to plant different species of sapling to ensure ecological balance as well as food security.
