A roundtable discussion was held here on Tuesday that brought together key stakeholders linked to the Social Dialogue and Industrial Relations (SDIR) project and the ‘Global Deal’ commitment, to discuss results for the next step and strengthen the partnerships.
The Global Deal is a global partnership that is in line with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – Goal number 8 and 17 – to the Agenda 2030, with the objective of jointly addressing the challenges in the global labor market enabling all people to benefit from globalisation.
Sweden, International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), jointly launched this initiative in 2015, said the Embassy of Sweden.
Bangladesh joined as a signatory to it in 2016 and has summarised its commitment and progress in the Global Deal Flagship report published in May 2018.
