The AK Khan Economic Zone which was built over 250 acres of land at Kazirchar village of Dangha union under Polash Upazila near Sitalakha river at a cost of Taka about one thousand crore now threatened for digging land near the project by a dishonest land gravers.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the AK Khan Economic Zone on February 10, 2016.
Now local land grabbers digging and lifting earth from the river side land of Sitalakha and government khas land near the AK Khan Eonomic Zone. As a result the management of Econoimic Zone are fearing for damaging the zone
The local influential men forceible entered the side of Ak khan Economic Zone The land gravers Continuing digging earth from the river side near A k Khan Economic Zone and lifting earth the side of Ak Kaan Industrial Zone for selling.
General manager of the Zone Aktar Hossain said. The Ak Khan Economic Zone is the important Economic zone where will be a international container terminal that will directly communicated with Chittagong river port and Meghna, Mongla and chittagong sea port that will. change the lot of the people of Narsingdi, Naryangang and Gajipur and over one lakh people will get job in this project. But the development work of the Economic Zone remain stop for want of enhancing of Panchdona to Dhanga Road from Dhaka-sylhet high way in four lane and for stopping the bridge work over the river Sitalakha.
The general manager said due to indiscriminately digging land and lifting earth from the side of AK khan Economic Zone, the sitalakha river may damage one portion of AK Khan container terminal during the rainy season. He said on 14-2-17 Abdul Hamid, Director SH Trading filed a case with polash Thana (Case number 12 (2) 17 against one hundred people who are involved with the digging and lifting earth from AK khan zone side land.
Recently this correspondent visited the Kazirchar village near AK Khan Economic zone and found that a section of labourers were digging earth near AK Khan Zone side with huge deep.
The correspondent when contacted with Abul Kalam Azad, officer in-charge (OC) of Polash Thana said, Sub inspector (SI) AB siddique is investing this case and he visited ehe spot several time but he so far did not submit any report properly against this case.
