Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of Railway ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury MP called upon the sports personalities to revive the lost glory of football in future. He said son of Bangabhandu Sheikh Kamal was the path finder of football and the dreamt for flourishing the football spirit among the juveniles and youths as chief guest.
Fazle Karim disclosed it while inaugurating the Bangabandhu Gold Cup football tournament at Raozan Govt High School ground recently through releasing pigeons and balloons .
In observance the birth centenary of the father of the nation Banglabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Mujib Borsha , this tournament is arranged. Chattogram District Krira Sangstha and Raozan Sharif Para Kelowar Samity organised the tournament. Convener of Bangabandhu Gold Cup Tournament and Panel Mayor of Raozan Pourashava Zamiruddin Parvez presides the inauguration ceremony.
Among others, Upazila Chairman Ehsanul Haider Chowdhury Babul, UNO of Raozan Jonaid Kabir Sohag, OC of Raozan Thana Md. Kefayetullah, Senior Vice President of upazila AL Anowarul Islam, Vice President Swapan Das, Panel Mayor-1 Md. Bashir Khan were present on the occasion as special guest. In the inaugural match of the tournament, Bangabandhu Ranirhat Sporting Club and the Kishowan Sporting Club participated . Saif Power Tech, Aramit Cement, JK Group and Azizur Rahman Foundation are the sponsors of the tournament.
No alternatives to Chattogram for national dev: Convener of Shipping and Port Committee of Chatogram Chamber of Commerce Faraaz Karim Chowdhury said Chattogram is the gateway of economy of Bangladesh.
He said Chattogram is closely related with the commodities so used by us because all these commodities are imported from abroad and came Chattogram port .
On the other hand ,the raw materials =that used in our industries and factories are brought from abroad through this port .
He said without Chattogsram , we never think national and economical development. Faraaz Karim disclosed it while exchanging views with the business leaders at Conference hall of world trade centre in the port city on Saturday .
Among others, Chamber President Mahbubul Alam, Vice president Tarafdar Md. Ruhul Amin and other directors of the chamber were present. He urges upon the business leaders to think the progress and development of chattogram port in coming days.
