The Imams should come forward in preaching real meaning of Islam to resist the vested quarters involved with misinterpreting the religion of peace and hatching conspiracies to destabilise the country.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range Khondker Golam Faruk made the call yesterday at the divisional level conference for the trained Imams and representatives of mazar-khanka sharifs in Rangpur as the chief guest.
Rangpur divisional office of Islamic Foundation Bangladesh (IFB) organised the conference at its conference room with its Divisional Deputy Director Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.
Noted industrialist Shahadat Hossain VIP and Deputy Director of IFB for Panchagarh Alamgir Hossain Sikder attended the conference as the special guests.
Peersaheb & Muhaddis of Baro Rangpur Keramotia Aliya Madrasa Mohammad Afzal Hossain and Peersaheb of Badarganj Mohammad Jahangir Alam took part as the main discussants. In the open discussion session, the trained Imams and representatives of mazar-khanka sharifs expressed determination of preaching real meaning of Islam to resist those evil forces involved with misinterpreting the religion of peace. They asked the Imams for delivering special Khutba before Juma prayers explaining real meaning of Islam to make people aware about the anti-Islamic activities conducted recently by some vested quarters for resisting those unitedly.
They also called upon the Imams to properly aware the common people about the false propaganda of some vested quarters against Islam in a bid to achieve their devil design through creating anarchy, chaos and communalism. Strongly condemning the false propaganda being conducted by some vested quarters using the name of Islam, they suggested the Imam community to keep vigil so that no vested quarter could use the mosques for their political interests.
The chief guest said there is no place for militancy and terrorism in Islam and the Imams could play vital role in preaching real spirit of Islam to permanently prevent militancy, extremism and terrorism for establishing sustainable peace in the society.
