Golden Jubilee of Barishal Udichi: Call to resist foreign cultural aggression

The day- long programmes of Golden Jubilee of Udichi Bangladesh and 49th biannual conference of Barishal Unit was held on Friday calling to resist foreign cultural aggression and develop native culture.
Cultural function, discussion and reception of cultural activists were held on this occasion at Ashwini Kumar Hall of the city. The programme was presided over by Biswanath Das Munshi, Barishal Unit President of Udichi and inaugurated by Manabendra Batobayel, former president and senior cultural activist.
After the inaugural session, a procession marched on city roads and organisational session of the programme was held.
At the evening session discussion, reception of senior actors Joyti Prokash Roy Hiltar and Aleya Begum were given for their life term achievements in the cultural arena of the city.
Sadik Abdullah, BCC Mayor, as chief guest, S M Ajiar Rahman, Deputy Commissioner, as special guest, attended the concluding session of the programme followed by cultural function performed by members of Udichi Barishal unit.
Among others, Snehangshu Biswas, Secretary, Udichi Barishal, Kajal Ghosh, president Barishal Sangskritik Sangothan Sanannaya Parishad, Shanti Das, President Gano Shilpi Sangstha Barishal unit, Jibon Krishna Dey, Nazmul Hossain Akash, Akkas Hossain, Papiya Jesmis, cultural activists Mohiuddin Manik Birprotik, addressed the sessions of the programme.
Participants and speakers of the programme said cultural activists must work for developing and popularizing progressive native culture .
We should be active to resist and prevent aggression of foreign cultural invasion, they stressed.
