Disability Rights Promotion International (DRPI) on Sunday urged the public and private employers to recruit physically challenged persons as per their skills to help achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs).
“Around 15 percent of our total populace is disabled. We cannot even dream to achieve our national development goals without improvement of this 15 percent of our total population,” DRPI Country Coordinator Dr Ferdousi Begum told a “Meet the Press” at Jatiya Press Club VIP lounge.
DRPI organized the press conference to inform about their activities in Bangladesh and their future responsibilities.

Bangladesh government has quota for persons with disabilities for getting government jobs but due to information gap, right candidate always seems to miss the opportunity, she added.
