11th National Parliamentary election: Call to re-elect AL to uphold dev

Speakers at a view-sharing meeting here on Friday urged all the leaders and workers of the ruling Bangladesh Awami League to become united and work hard for re-electing the party in the upcoming general elections to continue the ongoing development speed.
They sought vote for ‘Boat’, the election symbol of Awami League, saying re-election of the party is very much needed to build a hunger and poverty-free Bangladesh.
They were addressing the view-sharing meeting with party leaders and workers marking the forthcoming national election at Hotel Anjum in the city.
Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, addressed the meeting as the chief and special guests respectively with RCC Ward Councilor Nizam-Ul-Azim in the chair.
City unit Awami League Vice-President Shaheen Akhter Rainy and RCC Ward Councilor Matiur Rahman Mati also spoke.
Liton, city unit president of Bangladesh Awami League, says Bangladesh has already fulfilled eligibility criteria to upgrade to a developing country from the least developed one He told the meeting that the people witnessed massive development after voting for boat. On the contrary, when BNP comes to power, they destroy the country.
“Sheikh Hasina’s government is the government of development. All the sectors in the country have seen huge development and that’s why we have to bring this government back to power to keep the trend of progress going,” Liton said.
Liton urged the people to be united for resisting all evil forces conspiring against AL government in the upcoming election. He said, “A group of evil forces in the country is united to retard the development works of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and AL government.”
Lawmaker Badsha said the living standard of the common people of Bangladesh always improved whenever Awami League was in power.
People are being benefited from her government’s plans and programmes, he said.
He also urged the people to give their mandate for Awami League, in the forthcoming parliamentary election to give the party more scope to serve the nation.
