Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar laid emphasis on raising mass awareness to prevent dengue and other mosquito-borne diseases.
He was addressing an awareness building campaign on dengue as chief guest organized on Thursday by Posts and Telecommunications Division (PTD) at Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) Auditorium.
Jabbar urged the employees of PTD and its different bodies to work together with the people of the country to prevent dengue.
“Dengue is not only a problem in Bangladesh, but also a global phenomenon,” said the minister while calling for destroying the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito.
Additional Secretary of the Health Ministry Parvin Akhter and BPO Director General SS Bhadra also spoke on the occasion with PTD Secretary Ashoke Kumar Biswas in the chair.
The minister later opened the leaflet distribution activities published by the PDT to build awareness on dengue.
