Street Children Activists Network (SCAN), Bangladesh, an organization working for street children has urged the government to protect the underprivileged street childrem from COVID-19.
President of the network Jahangir Hossain and its General Secretary Moniruzzaman Mukul urged this in a written statement recently.
The statement urged the Department of Social Services to rescue the children living on the streets and provide them shelter to NGO-run centers or homes operated under the Child Rehabilitation Program under the Ministry of Women and Children.
In addition, the organization urged to ensure proper examination and health care of all rescued children by the Ministry of Health, to provide all necessary materials, including food, by the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
It may be mentioned that SCAN, Bangladesh has been working throughout the country with combination 72 NGOs, CBOs, SECs and professionals.
