Under the joint auspices of Bagerhat District Administration, SANAC Sachetan Nagarik Committee (SANAC), Bagerhat and Anti-corruption Committee, Bagearhat , International Anti-corruption Day was celebrated in Bagerhat district town in a befitting manner on Sunday .
The day’s programme started with a human chain formed in front of Bagerhat Press Club at 9-15 am. Tapan Kumar Biswas, DC, Bagerhat was present in the human chain as Chief Guest while it was attended by other high officials and the elite . The keynote paper prepared by TIB on the topic was read out by Fatema Aktar, Yes Member of SANAC, Bagerhat.
After the end of the human chain , a discussion meeting was held at local Sangskritik Foundation Auditorium with Prof ABM. Mosharraf Husain, Acting President, SANAC, Bagerhat in the chair.
Adv Ram Krisna Basu, former President of SANAC, Bagerhat explained the need and importance of holding the International Anti-corruption Day bwhile he was giving his address of welcome. Educationist Prof. Mozaffar Husain, President of Anti-Corruption Committee, Bagerhat while was addressing the meeting as the main speaker he told, corruption is a great hindrance for all kinds of development of a country. The present Government is trying to eradicate the corruption from the country. So, the Government is ceremonially observing the International Anticorruption Day-2018 in a befitting manner. The key speaker added, it is not possible to eradicate the corruption from all the sectors of the country over night. They urged to eradicate corruption from all sphere of life .
The meeting was also addressed among others by Shadat Hossain, Additional Police Super, Bagerhat as special guest, M Anisuzzaman, Executive Magistrate , Bagerhat, Shawon Mia, Assistant Inspector of Anti -Corruption Commission, Khulna, Prof Asaduzzaman, Tapan Kumar Biswas, Headmaster , Bagerhat Govt. Boys School, Rijia Parveen, official of NGO Rupantar. SANAC member Shaikh Mujibor Rahman conducted the meeting.

A discussion meeting was held on the same venue. It was held with the president of the Chapainawabganj District Unit of Durnity Protirodh Committee Prof Dr. Md. Siraz Uddin in the chair while it was addressed by the Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj A Z M Nurul Haque as chief guest.
Among others, Chairman of Sadar Upazila Parishad Md. Mokhleshur Rahman, Civil Surgeon of Chapainawabganj Dr S F M Khairul Ataturk, president of CCC of Chapainawabganj Saiful Islam Reza, secretary of the district unit of Durnity Protirodh
Committee Md.Mosiul Karim Babu and Bilqis Ara Mohua spoke on the occasion.
Additional deputy commissioner (Gen) AKM Tazqir Uz Zaman, UNO of Chapainawabganj Sadar Md. Alamgir Hossain, Area Manager of TIB of Chapainawabganj Md Shafiqul Islam, were also present.

District Administration, TIB- Sanak and Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) jointly arranged a colourful rally and discussion meeting marking the Day.
A discussion meeting was held at Art Council Conference Hall on Sunday morning.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen) Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil, Additional Police Super Nazmul Islam Supon attended as chief and special guest while Sonak Convener Saiful Hoque Mollah Dulu presided over.
It was addressed among others by former Sanak President Professor M.A. Gani, CAB Executive President Advocate Maya Bhowmik, CAB District Secretary Monowar Hossain Rony and Swapon Kumar Barman.
