Health Department, Kishoreganj arranged a press briefing on National Vitamin A plus Campaign 19th January, 2019 at 250 Bed General Hospital Conference Room on Monday noon.
Md Sarowr Morshed Chowhdury, DC attended as Chief Guest while Civil Surgeon and Deputy Director Dr Habibur Rahman in the chair.
Civil Surgeon and Deputy Director Dr Habibur Rahman said that at least 4,99,001 children will be feed in 13 upazilas of Kishoreganj.
It was addressed among others by Deputy Director of Kishoreganj General Hospital Dr Sultana Rajia, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Mujibur Rahman, Deputy Program Manage Dr Tapan Dutta, DEO Md Mustafizur Rahman, DPEO Md. Sajjad Hossain and BMP District Secretary Dr. Abdul Wahab Badal.
BSS from Narsingdi adds: Health experts here underscored the need for making the National Vitamin A plus Campaign (second round-2018) scheduled to be observed on January 19 a total success recently.
They were addressing a district level advocacy and planning meeting to make the National vitamin ‘A’ plus campaign 2018 (second round) successful.
Civil surgeon office organised the meeting at Deputy Commissioner’s conference room in association with Institute of Public Health Nutrition (IPHN) and National Nutrition Services.
Vitamin-A is crucial to preventing childhood blindness and reducing child mortality.
During the keynote presentation Dr Abu Kawsar Soman, gave an overview of the meeting and aspects of vitamin-A plus campaign. He said a total of 3,50,205 children, of them 35,231 children aged six to eleven months will be administered a blue coloured vitamin A capsule while 3,14,974 children aged 12 months to 59 months will be fed a red colourd vitamin A capsule in 1,811 centers in the district.
Deputy Commissioner of Narsingdi Syeda Farhana Kawnine addressed the meeting as the chief guest with Civil Surgeon Dr. Mohammed Helel Uddin in the chair.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (general) Abdul Awal and Additional Police Super Jakir Hossain were present in the meeting as special guests.
High officials of district administration and civil surgeon office and government and non-government officials and others concerned spoke at the meeting.
