International Mothers' Day observed: Call to make happy, friendly atmosphere for mothers

Speakers at a discussion in Rajshahi unequivocally called for ensuring happy and friendly atmosphere for the mothers so that they can lead their life comfortably.
Highlighting their innumerable contributions to the nation they viewed the mothers deserved the rights of enjoying all requisite privileges. All the authorities concerned should work together to this end. As a whole, celebration of the mother’s day should be meaningful.
District Administration and District Women Affairs Office jointly organised the discussion in association with Human Resource Development Training Institute (HRDTI) at its seminar Hall in Rajshahi city to mark the World Mothers Day-2016 Sunday afternoon.
Akhtar Jahan, MP, addressed the discussion as chief guest saying Mother’s Day is just around the corner and finding that perfect gift for beloved mother can be stressful. Mom is one of the most important persons in life and she deserves to know that.
With Fazley Rabbi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), in the chair, Social Worker Shaheen Akter Rainy, former MP Professor Zinatunnessa Talukder and District Women Affairs Officer Shahnaj Begum also spoke.
Lawmaker Akhtar Jahan urged all to work together to ensure safety and happiness for every mother and asked all to say no to all types of repression towards them.
“Let’s make a happy world for them stopping all kinds of repression … Let’s work together to make their lives more beautiful, more protected and safer,” she said.
She urged all to perform their duty towards mothers removing all the problems they face and bring back their smile so that every mother can find a dignified position in the society, which is a must for building a decent and peaceful society.
Appreciating the initiative taken by HRDTI Akhtar Jahan expressed her hope that such initiative to honour mothers would spread in every part of the country and mothers would be inspired to nurture their children more appropriately
Narsingdi Correspondent adds: International Mothers’ Day was celebrated in Narsingdi district on Sunday with due respect and enthusiasm.
The International Mothers’ Day has been celebrated on the second of May every year in Bangladesh for the last few years.
On the occasion ,Narsingdi district administration and Department of Women Affairs office jointly organized a discussion meeting at Deputy Commissioner conference room with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Khandaker Nural Hoque in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman Addressed the discussion as chief guest while police Super Amena Begum BPM addressed as special guest.
District Women Affair’s officer Sayeda Masuda Islam presented the welcome speech on the Day.
Among others Upazila Nirbahi officer Bandar, Mohsumi Begum, Upazila Nirbahi Officer,Rupganj , Farhana Begum, Principal of United College,Narsingdi Prof Kalam Mahamud,.Deputy Director Islamic Fundation,Narsingdi Abu Taher Siddeque,Upazila Mohila Vice Chairman Umme Salma Maya, BSS Narsingdi district correspondent Mohammad Abu Taher, Local NGO representative Sayeda Monira Begum and Muslema Aktar.
The Deputy Commissioner Abu Hena Morshed Zaman in his speech discussed on the Historical significance and celebrations of the Mother’s Day. He said Anna Jarvis is recognized as the founder of Mother’s Day in US. She is also known as the mother of Mother’s Day. The Depuyy Commissioner also discussed Present Day celebrations of Mother’s Day. He said today Mother’s Day celebrated in several countries including Bangladesh. People take the day as an opportunity to pay tribute to their mothers and thank them for all their love and support. There is also a tradition of gifting, flowers ,cards and others gift to mothers on the Mother’s Day.
