Call to grow book reading habits

Academics and development activists urged to grow book reading habit to acquire knowledge. As the books enlighten people and the creative books are essential for the mental development of children.
They made this observation while addressing the closing session of a daylong book fair at Kasiadanga High School playground held recently in Rajshahi. Innovation for Improving Early Grade Reading Activity Project of BRAC Education Programme organized the book fair to grow habit and inspire the students to reading books. More than 15 stalls were set in the fair displaying various types of books.
Chaired by BRAC District Representative AKM Jahedul Islam, the session was addressed, among others.

 by valiant Freedom Fighter Abdus Sattar, Panel Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation Rajab Ali, Headmaster of the school Shariqul Islam and Headmaster of Kasiadanga Girls High School Faruque Hossain.
The speakers opined that the people enriched with prosperous heart can build bright Bangladesh.
They underscored the need for reaching books at the doorsteps of the readers
