Community Policing Day was observed in Gopalganj on Saturday. The theme of the day was ‘The police are the people and the police’.
Gopalganj Zilla Police and Zilla Community Policing Forum jointly organised the programme.
Rally, discussion meeting, debate competition, art competition, resist competition, blood donation programme, football match and cultural function were held on the occassion.
On the occasion , Gopalganj District police brought out a rally and chanting sloguns. The rally praded main roads in the city.
After rally, a discussion meeting was held at Sheikh Moni Auditorium in Gopalganj town . Mohmmad Saidur Rahman Khan, superintendent of police (SP) Gopalganj preside the chair.
In the evening, district police arranged a blood donation programme at New Police Line in the city. Besides, a cultural function was also held there.
Among others, Chowdhury Emdadul Haque, President , District Awami League (AL), Sheikh Luthfar Rahman Bacchu, Chairman,Sadar Upazila, Gopalganj, Mahabub Ali Khan, general secretary, district AL,Gopalganj. Dr. Asit Mallik, deputy director (DD) general hospital Gopalganj were spoken on the occasion.
Netrakona Correspondent reports: Community Policing Day-2019 was observed in Netrakona on Saturday to involve local people for maintaining law and order situation.
Netrakona district police organised a day long program marking the day.
The day’s program included colorful rally, blood donation, discussion meeting, charity football match and prize distribution ceremony.
A colorful rally was brought out in the district town this morning from Netrakona district police office under the auspices of district police.
A large number of local people from all walks of life including members of community policing committees of the district joined the rally for gearing up the campaign for stopping the social menaces including drug abuse, stalking, terrorism, militancy, corruption and child marriage.
As part of the program, a discussion meeting was held at local public hall.
Habiba Rahman Khan Shefali MP addressed the meeting as the chief guest with police super Netrakona Akber Ali Munshi in the chair.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by Deputy Commissioner
Netrakona Main-UL-Islam, Mayor of Netrakona Pourasava Nazrul Islam Khan, President of Awami League Netrakona District Unit Motiur Rahman Khan and President of District Community Policing Executive Committee Dr. M A Hamid Khan.
The speakers underlined the need for concerted efforts of all to keep the society free from crime and corruption including drug abuse, eve teasing, terrorism, militancy and child marriage.
Bhangura (Pabna) Correspondent says: A rally and discussion meeting were held on the occasion of Community Policing Day at Bhangura Upazila of Pabna district on Saturday. On this occasion, a discussion meeting wasarranged by Bhangura Thana Police in the hall room of the Government Bhangura Union School and College.
 Md Masud Rana, Officer-In-Charge , Bhangura Thana presided over the meeting. Among others, Syed Asrafujjaman , UNO, Sajib Shahrin, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Nazmul Haq, OC Investigation, Pabna Zilla Parishad Member Aslam Ali and Gulshahanara Parvin Lipi, Alhaj Fazlar Rahman President, Upazila Community Policing, Golam Hafiz Ranju , Upazila Vice Chairman, Azida Khatun Pakhi ,Upazila Female Vice Chairman, Zakir Hossain Sobi, Senior Vice President Upazila, Awami Leauge spoke in the meeting.

Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj reports: The Community Policing Forum including District Police arranged a colourfull rally, cake cutting blood donation, art competition of children and cultural function marking the Community Policing Dayon on Saturday.
Former IGP and Senior Secretary Noor Mohammad M.P attended as chief guest and D.C Sarwar Morshed Chowhdury, SP Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) and Civil Surgeon Dr Habibur Rahman attended as special guest while Zilla Parished Chairman Adv Md. Zillur Rahman presided over.
A discussion meeting was held at local Art Council Auditorium hall on Saturday.
It was addressed among others by Poura Mayor Mahamud Pervez, District Awami League Secretary Adv M.A Afzol, Addition SP (Promoted SP) Nazmul Islam, Prof Pranash Kumar Chowhdhury, freedom fighter Md. Asadullah, Women Leader Bilkis Begum and Forum Secretary Saiful Haque Mollah Dulu.
Chief guest Noor Mohamad said , Community Policing Day is aimed at making the society, free from terrorism militancy, staling drug abuse and child marriage.
Later, a colourful rally was brought out in the town marking the Day.
BSS from Rajshahi says: The Community Policing Day was observed in the city on Saturday with the call of combating the crimes related to terrorism, drug-addiction and militancy with joint efforts of police and the public in general.
To mark the day, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) organized a colourful rally from Alupatty crossing largely attended by police men, members of the local community policing, political leaders and other leaders of influence and students.
After parading some of the city streets the rally ended at Rajshahi College auditorium where a discussion was held on the issue with RMP Commissioner Humayun Kabir in the chair.
Additional Inspector General of Police Abul Kashem addressed the meeting as chief guest while Advocate Adiba Anjum Mita, MP, and Advisory Council Member of Bangladesh Awami League Prof Abdul Khaleque spoke as guests of honour.
Rajshahi City unit general secretary of Awami League Dablu Sarker and Bagmara Upazila Parishad Chairman Anil Kumar Sarker also spoke on the occasion.
Abul Kashem said the community people should extend cooperation towards police with specific information about the criminals.
Crimes-free society, particularity free from terrorism and drug addiction, must be established to protect people and the young generation, in particular.
To attain the cherished goal, the law-enforcing agencies and the community people should have to work together as the law-enforcers alone aren’t capable to overcome the crisis.
He added that police-citizens joint patrolling and drives against the social crimes are the main objective of the community based policing and there is no alternative to activating it to free the society from the crimes.
The community based policing had been introduced in the metropolis with a noble view, but the community people should take the responsibility of making
it effective.
“If you give us authentic information about the criminals and other anti- social elements, we will put in our best efforts to bring those to book as early as possible,” he reminded the community people.
BSS from Gaibandha says: The Community Policing Day-2019 was celebrated in the district as elsewhere in the country on Saturday with a call to gear up the community policing activity to make the society free from drug abuse, terrorism and militancy.
This year’s theme of the day is “Policer Sange Kaaz Kori, Madak, Jangi, Santrash Mukta Desh Gori”.
Marking the day, District Community Policing Coordination Committee (DCPCC) chalked out the elaborate programmes.
The programmes included cake cutting, essay writing, debate, and art competitions to the students, blood donation activity, staging drama on community policing, and prizes distribution to the winners.
A grand rally, led by additional deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, Rangpur range M. Ikbal Hossain, was brought out from Independence Square and ended it in front of ZSA after parading the main roads of the town this morning.
A discussion meeting organized by DCPCC was held in the Auditorium of
Zila Shilpakala Academy (ZSA) of the town with M. Abdus Salam, convener of DCPCC in the chair.
Additional DIG of police, Rangpur range, M. Ikbal Hossain addressed the function as the chief guest and superintendent of police Towhidul Islam, president of Bangladesh Awami League, district unit, Advocate Syed Shams-ul- Alam Hiru, general secretary Abu Bakar Siddique, mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Adv Shah Zahangir Kabir Milon, and member secretary of DCPCC Protap Ghosh were present at the event as the special guest.
The speakers said there is no alternative to community policing to maintain peaceful law and order situation in the country as Bangladesh is a densely populated country.
They also underscored the need for gearing up the community policing activity from urban to rural areas for eliminating drug abuse, terrorism, militancy, stalking, child marriage and newly added cybercrimes.
The additional DIG also urged the community policing members to be more serious, create confidence and belief to the people from all walks of life of the society and make the policing activities more popular to them through having community policing philosophy.
Later, the guests formally distributed prizes to the winners. The programme was followed by cultural function where a number of artistes rendered songs and performed dances to entertain the participants.
A large number of people including police officials, community policing members, students, teachers, social workers and media men participated in the programmes.
