Bangladesh Workers Party Chairman and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon has called for forming social resistance committee against terrorism and extremism within July 21.
“The committee against terrorism and extremism to be launched at each ward and Thana by July 12 … and it is to be completed by July 21 as the newly formed committee will help to create awareness locally among the people so that none could create terrorism in the name of religion”, said the minister.
The minister made this call as the chief guest while he was addressing a view exchange meeting arranged by the 14 Party Alliance at Paltan community center here on Saturday.
Chaired by Motijheel Thana Awami League President Basirul Alam Khan, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by general secretary of Dhaka City South Awami League Shahe Alam Murad, Dhaka city South Ward Councilor Kamal Chowdhury, Abul Hosain and Kishor Roy.
Protesting terrorist’s attack on police petrol at Solakhia of Kishorganj, Menon said those who carried out the attack on Eid congregation and killed police and innocent people are nobody but terrorists.
