Speakers at a discussion stressed the need for ensuring fundamental rights especially the health, social and legal rights of the transgender people for uplifting their living and livelihood conditions.
They viewed people should come forward with a positive attitude to them for their co-existence in society with decent livelihood.
City Social Service Office yesterday organized the discussion at its premises in Rajshahi
on the occasion of distributing education grants cheque among 33 transgender and 34 dalit community people. Member of National Social Welfare Council Shahin Akter Rainy and Deputy Director of Department of Social Service (DSS) Rubina Yeasmin addressed the meeting as chief and special guests respectively with city social service officer Abdullah Al Firoj in the chair.
