Youth forces and development activists at a sit-in-demonstration unequivocally called for ensuring nutritious and safe food for all living beings for their survival.
They mentioned that the present living being including humans and wildlife are facing a common problem in terms of availing safe and nutritive food because of adulteration and contamination.
This is the high time of taking stern action against all sorts of adulteration and contamination of food for maintaining a sound and healthy atmosphere in the animal food chain and biodiversity.
Youth Action for Social Change (YASC) and Save the Nature and Life organized the programme at Shaheb Bazar Zero Point in Rajshahi city on Monday putting forward a set of recommendations on how to ensure safe and nutritious food for all living beings.
Bangladesh Resource Centre for Indigenous Knowledge (BARCIK) and many other like-minded youth and voluntary organizations supported the meeting.
“Ensure nutritious and safe food to all living beings at a fair price” was the main slogan of the programme.
Vice-president of local unit of Muktijoddha Sector Commander Forum Valiant Freedom Fighter Shahajahan Ali Borjahan, YASC President Shamiul Alim, General Secretary Atiqur Rahman, Rajshahi Press Club General Secretary Aslam-Ud-Dowla, Save the Nature and Life Chairman Mijanur Rahman and BARCIK Regional Coordinator Shahidul Islam, among others, addressed the meeting.
The discussant identically mentioned that all sorts of unsafe foods like adulterated and contaminated ones are injurious to public health. So, there is no way but to ensure safe and nutritious food for all.
Number of patients suffering from various diseases including heart and cancer is gradually increasing due to in-taking of various unhygienic and unsafe foods, they added.
