City unit of Chhatra League demanded half concession fare for the students in city’s public transports .
An statement duly signed by city President of BCL Imran Ahmed Imu and General secretary Nurul Azim Roni to the media yesterday.
The statement was told that the city bus fares are being increased frequently and the students are being harassed by the transport workers centring the increased fares. This concessional fare system is being practices in other districts including capital city Dhaka considering the advantages for the students whereas this system is not practiced in the port city, the leaders added.
Mentionable that only BRTC has introduced the half rate in city buses after written prayers.
The statement was also told that the system of half concessional fares for students should be introduced in bus services at city and upazlia levels in Chittagong like other countries of the world including Dhaka and its adjoining areas.
