There is no alternative to completely the social mindset for ensuring safety, security and equal rights of the girl child to make them worthy citizens for attaining sustainable national development.
The observation was made at a post-rally discussion arranged at Public
Library auditorium on Monday to observe the National Girl Child Day-2015 with the theme ‘Safe environment for girl children will make the future Bangladesh prosperous.’ The district unit of National Girl Child Advocacy Forum with the assistance of The Hunger Project organised various daylong programmes including rally, discussion, drawing competitions and prize giving ceremony in the city.
The day was observed during the three-day observance of the World Child Day and Child Rights Day-2015 from October 11 to 13 in the country as elsewhere in the globe.

Sangstha, different NGOs and organisations have also chalked out programmes for creating mass public awareness on ensuring fundamental rights of the girl child.
The programme included bringing out of colourful rallies, forming human chains and discussion meetings, cultural functions and screening documentary films on rights of girl child and universal child rights.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: Speakers at a discussion here on Monday unequivocally called for ensuring equal rights to the girl child to make them equally worthy citizens for the sake of attaining substantial and sustainable national uplift.
They also called upon all concerned for ensuring education, health care, equal rights, safety and security of every girl child, stopping child marriage and all sorts of violence against them to make them worthy citizens in the greater national interest.
District administration, Department of Women Affairs and Jatiya Mohila Sangstha jointly organised the discussion at the conference hall of Human Resource Development Center in the city in observance of National Girl Child Day and Child Marriage Prevention-2015.
Begum Akhter Jahan, MP, and former state Minister Prof Zinatun Nessa Talukder addressed the discussion as the chief and special guests
respectively with Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi, in the chair.
