Chattogram Bureau :
People with disabilities are being involved in information technology. They are entering there.
They are moving forward using technology. Training is being imparted to the disabled all over Bangladesh. People with disabilities need to have their
services delivered to their doorsteps.
This was said by Prof Dr Hanif Siddiqui while addressing as the chief guest at the seminar titled ‘ICT Department for Capacity Building of Persons with Disabilities in Information Technology’ held at the seminar room of the Institute of Engineers in Chattogram on Thursday.
He also said, “The government is doing a lot for the disabled people. But our disabled people do not have publicity for it. People with disabilities need to be brought into a network. If you involve them there, they will be able to know all the opportunities at the moment. They will be able to know about all the facilities of the government.”
Speakers at the seminar said that the present government is a disabled people friendly government. The government has taken various projects to improve the skills of the disabled people. The protection measures provided by the government for the disabled people should be properly communicated to them. In many cases it is not possible to reach.
“If we want to achieve the goal of SDGs, we have to move forward with everyone. There is no opportunity to neglect the disabled people. They have to be used in different workplaces of the country. The days of neglecting the disabled are over. That day is no more. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s worthy daughter Saima Wazed Putul is working tirelessly with the disabled. For which he has won international awards recently,” said the speakers at the seminar.
