Police Super, Kishoreganj Md. Mashrukur Rahman Khaled BPM (Bar) on Thursday said, the rumor are being circulated in a planned way by anti-government men from both inside and outside the country.
A vested quarter is spreading the rumors to halt the pace of progress in the country, he said while speaking a media briefing at District Police Officer conference room on Thursday.
SP also said that they are spreading rumors through face-book and other social media. Those who were killed in the lynching were innocent people.
Kishoreganj Police have planned to observe an week-long awarness-programme started on Wednesday in 13 upazialas in the district to stop the rumors.
He also said, police are now trying to arrest the culprits.
Additional SP Mizanur Rahman and Additional SP (Sadar) Anirban Chowdhury were also present.
It was addressed among others by senior journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Saiful Hoque Mollah Dulu, Shatabdir Khanta Editor Ahamadullah, Noor Mohammad and Sakauddin Ahamed Rajon.
Kapasia (Gazipur) Correspondent reports : Kapasia Police Station has launched a massive campaign against the rumor yesterday.
Gazipur Police Super Shamsunnahar advised the people not to hear rumors. Police Officer-in-Charge Md Rafiqul Islam asked the police not to listen any propaganda before the class began on Wednesday morning at Kapasia Government Pilot High School ground.
The police have taken a special measures to raise awareness of the various schools, colleges, madrasas, teachers, guardians and common people of the upazila against the propaganda .

BSS from Rangpur adds: Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RMP) launched an awareness raising campaign to prevent crimes like lynching of innocent people in the name of child lifting and spreading rumours that the Padma Bridge would require child immolation and blood.
RMP Commissioner Abdul Alam Mahmud launched the campaign on Wednesday afternoon to prevent these crimes and rumours around educational institutions and in the society at a public rally held at Shaheed Mukhtar Elahi Square in the city.
Presided over by Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) of RpMP Kazi Muttaki Ibnu Minan, its Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Shamima Parveen, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (Headquarters) Abdullah Al Faruk and President of Rangpur Metropolitan Community Policing Committee Idris Ali, addressed the rally.
The RMP Commissioner said a vested quarter is hatching conspiracy to destabilize the country by killing and injuring innocent people through spreading rumours.
“The law enforcement agencies will take drastic measures to prevent such rumours, mass beating and lynching of innocent people,” he said
He urged everyone to create social awareness against such rumours and not to take the law into own hands through mass beating or lynching of innocent people on suspicion of child abduction.
Other speakers urged common people to provide information to police and other law enforcement agencies to help preventing criminal offenses like lynching of innocent people by mass beating and torture. They suggested for calling to all six police stations of RMP, its control room and national service number 999 to stop spreading of such rumours, if any.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP-DB) of RMP Md. Altaf Hossain, ACP (Porshuram Zone) Sheikh Md. Jinnal Al Mamun, ACP (Traffic) Farhad Imrul Quayes, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Abdur Rashid and civil society members were present.
