BSS, Dhaka :
Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader urged all to be more careful and obey traffic rules to stop fatal road accidents.
The request came few days after the deadly accident at Baraigram Village in Natore in which many people have been killed as well as injured.
“It is impossible to stop road accidents without creating awareness among the people alongside their eagerness to follow the traffic rules,” Quader said this on Wednesday after inaugurating a rally marking National Road Safety Day.

Replying to a query, the minister blamed reckless driving for deaths and injuries of many people in the recent head-on-collision of two passenger buses at Baraigram in Natore, saying, “The tragic accident took place because of reckless driving. Drivers should have to realize that they are also not safe as driver also killed in the (Baraigram) accident.”
“We are trying to erase the technical faults in constructing roads. A total of 144 black spots on roads and highways across the country have already been spotted as risky to accidents and works to reform those will soon be started,” he also said.
Quader, also Presidium Member of the ruling Awami League, called upon both the drivers and passengers to make them aware in stopping such accidents.
