Call for turning youths into productive workforces

Speakers at the inaugural ceremony of a training course on sewing and computer here have called for turning the unemployed youths into productive workforces to accelerate national development.
Raipur union parishad has been organising the two-month long training course for 160 unemployed female youths at its conference room under the Union Parishad Governance Project since Monday in Pirganj upazila of the district.
The main objective of the training course is aimed at turning the rural unemployed females into skilled and productive workforces to assist them in attaining self-reliance through income generation activities.
Chairman of Raipur union parishad Anisur Rahman attended the ceremony and inaugurated the training course as the chief guest with its Member Chand Mian in the chair.
Union parishad Members Mostafizur Rahman Golap, Moslem Uddin and Ferdousi Begum, Trainer of the course Ranu Mian, former President of Pirganj Press Club Sarwar Jahan, senior journalist Nurunnabi Sarder Rabu addressed as the special guests.
After completion of the month-long training course on sewing in the first phase, another month-long training course on computer will begin for the participants at the same venue.
While addressing the ceremony, the speakers stressed for turning the unemployed male and female youths of the country into the driving and productive workforce to flourish national economy in the process of building a middle income nation by 2021.
They narrated the tremendous success achieved in socioeconomic uplift during tenure of the present pro-people government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in creating massive job opportunities for the unemployed youths throughout the country.
They put importance on ensuring need-based and time-befitting training for the unemployed youths to flourish their abilities and increase creativity, self-confidence for enhancing socioeconomic uplift in building a developed society.
The chief guest asked the youths for availing the continuous and massive facilities and supports being provided by the government for making them self-reliant through their own initiatives, entrepreneurship and income-generation activities.
