Speakers at the monthly meeting of District Corruption Prevention Committee (DCPC) have stressed for turning the campaign against corruption into a vigorous social movement involving every citizen in the society.
They put special emphasis on ensuring transparency and accountability in government offices and educating the young students about the value of honesty to inspire them in becoming patriotic citizens for building a corruption-free Bangladesh.
The DCPC with the assistance of District Combined Office of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) and RDRS Bangladesh, a reputed NGO, arranged the meeting at the hall room of Rangapur Sahittya Parisat in the city on Wednesday afternoon.
The NGO assisted in arranging the meeting under its Justice Reform and Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project being implemented with German Development Cooperation (GIZ) funding under assistance of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
President of the DCPC and noted educationist Professor Mozammel Haque presided over the meeting that elaborately discussed and finalised annual action plan of the organisation for the current year.
Vice-presidents of DCPC SM Rezaul Islam Suja and Dr Nasima Akhter, its Members including Banamali Paul, Monjusree Saha, Senior Reporter of BSS Mamun Islam, Advocate Zakia Sultana Choitee, Khademul Islam Basunia, took part in the discussion.
District Manager of JRCP Project Ershad M Rasel delivered his speech on the draft annual action plan in the meeting moderated by General Secretary of the organisation and valiant freedom fighter Akbar Hossain.
The meeting elaborately discussed various organisational issues, activities conducted during the current year in preventing corruption prevention through creating mass public awareness and the future annual action plans for the current year.
Taking part in the discussion, the speakers stressed for establishing accountability in every government office and inspiring the young generation to prevent corruption and arranging debates to build their anti-corruption mindset.
