Speakers at a workshop in the city today called for institutionalizing the Government Tenderer Forum (GTF), constituted in every district, for making the development works sustainable through the proper use of public funds.
The GFT would help establish good working relations and trust between officials of Public Entities (PEs) and tenderers, which is very much essential for facilitating tender winners to perform procedures properly as well as assist them in their appropriate implementation, they observed.
The workshop on ‘Institutionalizing Government-Tenderer Forum (GTF)’ was held at LGED Conference Room at Agargaon here. Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) Secretary M Mofizul Islam attended the workshop as the chief guest while Central Procurement Technical Unit (CPTU) Director General M Faruque Hossain and Additional Secretary of the Planning Ministry were present as special guests.
Lead Procurement Specialist of the World Bank Dr Zafrul Islam and Senior Director of Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs (BCCP) Khadija Bilkis, among others, spoke on the occasion.
The programme was organised under Digitizing Implementation Monitoring and Public Procurement Project (DIMAPPP) of the CPTU. BCCP arranged the event on behalf of CPTU.
The GTF will work as a platform for initiating dialogues among the bidding community and PEs to exchange their views, ideas and experiences related to public procurement including e-GP, opined the participants.
