Ruling 14-party alliance spokesman Mohammad Nasim on Saturday urged the countrymen to defeat the accomplices of Pakistan occupation forces in 1971 ultimately in the next general elections.
“We must defeat them at any cost in the next general elections,” Nasim, also the Health and Welfare Minister, said in his presidential speech at a discussion of 14-party alliance in front of the Mirpur killing field in the city.
The 14-party alliance organized the meeting marking the Genocide Day.
Workers Party of Bangladesh President Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) General Secretary Shirin Akther, Samyabadi Dol President Dilip Barua, Awami League City North unit general Secretary Sadeq Khan, Swechchhasebok League General Secretary Pongkaj Debnath and National Awami Party (NAP) leader Ismail Hossain, among others, addressed the meeting.
Nasim, also an AL presidium member, said a vested quarter wants to create instability in the country as the defeated accomplices of Pakistan occupation forces continue their conspiracies against the country.
Urging the pro-liberation forces to remain alert, the health minister said, “We should work with unity against their conspiracies.”
