CAG submits audit reports to President

Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh (CAG) Masud Ahmed on Tuesday submitted the Annual Audit Reports to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban.
During the meeting, the CAG apprised the President of different aspects of the reports. President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting. The audit reports included 340 audit objections involving Tk 11687.33 crore and $US 99.29 lakh. The reports include 16 annual audit reports, six special audit reports, one performance audit report and one issue-based report. President thanked the CAG for submitting the reports, especially the performance audit report. Abdul Hamid hoped that the number of audit objections will be reduced due to the submission of these reports and transparency and accountability of spending public money would be ensured. He also praised the role of the members of the Public Accounts Committee for settling audit objections which remained pending for long.
