The just concluded international conference of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) in Dhaka ended with investment proposals for over $20.8 billion in different potential sectors of Bangladesh economy under CACCI network.
The disclosure was made by president of FBCCI and co-host of the conference Sheikh Fazle Fahim at a press conference at a local hotel on Thursday on conclusion of the two-day event on Wednesday. The event has brought the country to growing global spotlight.
CACCI president Samir Modi and other senior leaders of the regional body were present in the press conference. Over 300 delegates from 27 member states attended the conference. It was the 33rd such event; which acts as a bigger business platform to share information on business development, new technology and identify new areas of investments.
Fazle Fahim said Bangladesh received investment proposals in many areas like light engineering, automobiles, infrastructure and food processing, tourism and entertainment industries. He said business leaders have praised significant economic progress Bangladesh made in the recent past and showed interest to make new investments here.
He said the conference agreed on two issues. In the first place under memorandum of understanding with Russia Bangladesh’s chamber bodies and its FBI members will set up connectivity with global e-chambers platform. This will allow projection of goods and services produced in the country to showcase to global market under a business to business platform in member states. Under another MoU signed on this occasion, International College of Advanced Education of Australia will share training modules with FBCCI for far reaching entrepreneurship development.
