Head Coach of Bangladesh Football team Javier Cabrera has chosen five senior footballers for the upcoming Football Competition of Asian Games. Usually the Football Competition of Asian Games is held under-23 age based footballers. But there is an option to included three above under-23 footballers, who can play for their team. Cabrera has included initially five senior footballers in his squad. Of them, three booters will play in the forthcoming Asian Games Football Competition. Asian Games 2022 will be held at Hangzhou Province in China this year’s September.
Cabrera has chosen goalkeeper Anisur Rahman Zico, midfielder Jamal Bhuyan, midfielder Sohel Rana, forward Sumon Reza and forward Rakib Hossain. Though Cabrera has chosen them, but he have to drop two footballers from his list. In that case, two booters from Sohel Rana, Sumon Reza and Rakib Hossain will be get chance for the final squad.
It may be mentioned that Jamal Bhuyan is famous in the international level. He has the capacity to coordinate between the offence players and the defence players. Anisur Rahman Zico is now in a good form.
Bangladesh Olympic Association asked all the federations to give the list before February 10. But the TVS Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football started February 3. So, the newly appointed Head Coach took two more days to finalize the Bangladesh Football squad for Asian Games. Cabrera has chosen all the booters, who are aged under-23. Goalkeeper Shahidul Alam Sohel of Dhaka Abahani Limited has been performing well in this years BPL Football. But Cabrera has chosen Anisur Rahman Zico in the quota of senior booetrs.
Before the Asian Games, Bangladesh Football team will play football matches in the FIFA window for the month of March. It will be the first assignment for Javier Cabrera. But Bangladesh Football Federation has not yet finalized the opponent teams against Bangladesh in the FIFA window for the month of March.
