Cabinet denounces Israeli attack

The Cabinet on Monday strongly condemned the killings of a huge number of innocent Palestinian people, including women and children in Gaza strip through indiscriminate Israeli air-strikes in the last few days.
Terming the killings in the Palestinian territory a serious violation of human rights, the Cabinet noted that the killings in the holy month of Ramzan are more unfortunate.
The Cabinet came up with the condemnation during its regular weekly meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said the Cabinet mentioned that Bangladesh has unequivocal support to the just demands and rights of the Palestinian people and this support will continue in the future as well.
Apart from demanding an immediate end to the heinous Israeli attacks on the innocent Palestinian people, the Cabinet also called upon the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop the killings soon.
The Cabinet also approved the draft of ‘Bangladesh Railway Board (Repealed) Bill, 2014’ subject to vetting of the Law Ministry to bring the related ordinance of 1983 into Bangla which was annulled by the higher courts earlier. The draft was made in Bangla as per the earlier decision of the Cabinet to bring about 253 ordinances in Bangla with necessary updates which were promulgated during the military rules and cancelled by the higher court.
Besides, the Cabinet gave nod to the amended agreement on Cultural Cooperation between Bangladesh and Azerbaijan keeping provision of drafting the agreement in three Languages-English, Bengali and Azerbaijani.
The Cabinet was also apprised about the participation of Foreign Minister in the ‘Global Oceans Action Summit for Food Security and Blue Growth’ held at Hague in Netherlands on April 22-25, 2014, ‘Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict: London 2014’ held in London on June 10-13, 2014, and the Foreign Minister Level 41st Council of OIC held in Jeddah on June 18-19, 2014. Ministers and State Ministers and secretaries concerned attended the meeting.
