Cabinet committee okays 7 procurement proposals

The Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) Sunday approved a proposal for importing 75,000 tonnes of fertilizer along with six other six other procurement schemes with a total outlay of Taka 455 crore.
The approval came at the weekly CCGP meeting with Finance Minister A M A Muhith in the chair at the cabinet division.
Cabinet division joint secretary Mustafizur Rahman who was familiar with the meeting told reporters that Desh Trading Agency was assigned to import the fertilizer involving Taka 196.05 crore in three shipments.
The CCGP approved a proposal to appoint a consultant to supervise the work of China CAMC Engineering Co Ltd, which was tasked to construct the “Padma Water Treatment Plant” of Dhaka WASA at a cost of Taka 22.26 crore.
Among the approved proposals one was for a 440 metre Pre-stressed concrete girder bridge on Tulatuli River on the Garulia-Gobindapr road at Bakerganj upazila in Barisal at a cost of Taka 52.73 crore.
The purchase committee gave nod to the proposal of constructing five 10-storied building at Dhalpur Cleaners’ Colony under the Construction of Residence for the cleaners of Dhaka City Corporation. M/S MEC Engineers and Construction Ltd implement the work involving Taka 84.50 crore.
