Staff Reporter :A cabin crew of Kuwait Airways was arrested by Customs Intelligence with 548 grams gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport early Saturday. The detainee has been identified as Aslam Omar Belim (45) who carried the gold bars and another 82 grams of ornaments in his body. The cabin crew of flight of KU 283 from Kuwait landed at 5.30am in Dhaka. Director General of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Moinul Khan confirmed it.Getting information, the Customs Intelligence officials challenged Belim when he was passing through the green channel of the airport, said the DG. After searching his body, they recovered four gold bars and some ornaments and detained him. The market value of the gold is about Tk25 lakh.A case was filed with Airport Police Station. Legal action is underway, said Customs officials.
