Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Under-17 Cricket team scored a modest 198 for the loss of seven wickets in the first innings against Bangladesh Under-17 Cricket team on the first day of the three-dayer match at the BKSP Ground in Savar on Sunday.
CAB Under-17 Cricket team made a solid start as Debojyoti Ghosh and SK Biswas, the two openers of CAB Under-17 Cricket team added together solid 54 runs for the loss of one wicket before Debojyoti Ghosh was bowled out by Foysal Ahmed for 24.
After removal Debojyoti Ghosh, SK Biswas and Ankit Chakraborty contributed 50 runs for the second wicket stand before SK Biswas was run out by Shamim Patwari when CAB Under-17 Cricket team’s score was 104 for the loss of two wickets.
After dismissal of Biswas, CAB Under-17 Cricket team could build only one notable partnership.
Sharmik Banarjee and Kaushik Maity put on together 42 runs for the seventh wicket stand before Sharmik Banarjee was caught and bowled by Foysal Ahmed when CAB Under-17 Cricket team’s total was 197 for the loss of seven wickets.
Sharmik Banarjee was the day’s most successful batsman. He notched up a superb 48 from 94 balls featuring six fours and a sixer while SK Biswas knocked a calm 42 from 159 balls including five fours.
Ankit Chakraborty hit a polished 40 off 136 balls with three balls.
Foysal Ahmed and Nowshad Iqbal bagged a pair of wickets each at the cost of eight and 34 runs respectively while Mohammad Rony and Aminul Islam took one each for 27 and 28 runs respectively.
