CAB U-17 draw with Bangladesh U-17 despite conceding follow-on

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Under-17 Cricket team drew with Bangladesh Under-17 Cricket team despite conceding follow-on on the third and final day of the first three-dayer match at the BKSP in Savar on Friday.
Opting to bat first, Bangladesh Under-17 Cricket team piled up 400 for the loss of eight wickets and declared their first innings on the second day (Thursday).
In reply, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Under-17 Cricket team were tottering at 83 for the loss of four wickets in the first innings before the bails were drawn for the second day.
Resuming with the over-night score of 83 for the loss of four wickets CAB Under-17 Cricket team were dismissed for 148 and were forced to follow-on.
Later, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Under-17 Cricket team scored 158 for the loss of three wickets in the second innings before the umpires drew the bails for the final day (Friday).
Arnab Bhattacharjee and Indrajit Orang resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 66 and naught. Arnab added more five runs before he was caught behind by Mortaza Ahmed off Sahadat Ridoy when CAB Under-17 Cricket team’s score was 89 for the loss of five wickets.
Later, CAB Under-17 batsmen failed to resist Bangladesh’s bowling attack. Thus, they could add more 65 runs losing rest of the six wickets.
Rohit Mandal knocked a notable 30 from 75 balls featuring four fours.
Sahadat Ridoy played the key role in demolishing CAB Under-17 Cricket team’s first innings claiming four wickets at the cost of 43 runs with a good support from Nowshad Iqbal and Mukidul Islam who bagged a couple of wickets each for 14 and 42 runs respectively.
After conceding follow-on, CAB Under-17 Cricket team carefully batted and saved their team from innings defeat.
Opener SK Biswas remained undefeated with 71. His 190-ball innings was laced with 12 fours.
Arnab Bhattacharjee remained unbeaten with 48. His 159-ball knock was decorated with six fours.
Aminul Islam bagged a pair of wickets instead of 52 runs.
Earlier, Aminul Islam notched up a terrific 122. Thus, Aminul Islam was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.
