CAB places 12-point demands to Mayor

The leaders of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh(CAB) , Chittagong chapter led by its President SM Nazer Hossain paid courtesy called on city Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin at the Corporation auditorium in Nagar Bhaban on Sunday afternoon.
During the meet, CAB, Chittagong chapter handed over 12-points proposal to city Mayor. The proposals are- to eliminate food adulteration, keep stable of the prices of the essential commodities, strengthening the conservancy activities, to remove transport congestions in city, controlling of house rent in private sector, qualitative education system, simplifying the tax payments, hawker less footpaths, walkway construction, and creating awareness on consumers rights etc.
City Mayor gave patient hearing to the proposals of the CAB and assures them to comply their demands in phases. City Maor further said such meeting of CAB with CCC will be held in every month to ascertain the problems of the city dwellers.
City also asked the city dwellers to keep their household wastes in specific dustbins within the time from 7 pm to 11 pm and these wastes will be cleared from the dustbins during the night period before 6 am, sources said.
Among others, councilors Abida Azam, Jesmin Parvin Jesi, personal secretary of Mayor ManzoorulIslam, CAB general secretary Iqbal Bahar sabery, CAB city unit president Jesmin Sultana Paru, City editor of Suprabhat Bangaldesh Nasirul Hoque, and the district and divisional leaders of CAB were present on the occasion.
