BWIT and Microsoft celebrate International Women’s Day

Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT) and Microsoft Bangladesh celebrated International Women’s Day on Sunday in the city.
With a theme “Planet 50-50 by 2030: Step It Up for Gender Equality’, this year BWIT and Microsoft co-organized “BWIT IT Show 2016”, an event representing women led tech companies to primarily showcase women entrepreneurs and Startups in tech. The event offered an opportunity to showcase Bangladeshi women in tech, and represented current technology trends in Applications, Software, and Apps, and Startups.
YasojaGunasekera, High Commissioner, High Commission of Sri Lanka, Rokia Rahman, President BFWE, Former Advisor, Caretaker Government, Former President MCCI, Christine Hunter, Country Representative UN Women. Sara L. Taylor, Deputy Country Representative, The Asia Foundation, Ahmedul Haque, President BACCO, Luna Shamsuddoha, President BWIT and Sonia Bashir Kabir, Managing Director, Microsoft Bangladesh, Vice President, BWIT attended the event as Guest Speakers.
‘We celebrate International Women’s day with hi tech companies and are also acknowledging support and encouragement women get from men in their lives to be successful.
