It has been alleged that the Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) is trying to construct a pueblo barrage on the land beside the Kochpara Matamuhuri River in Chakorya Municipality, without taking into account the rules of the Government.
Without any land acquisition, the barrage is being implemented causing losses to farmers and panic permanent block on the cultivable land of common man.
Many people will lose their homes if the irregular construction of is not stopped.
On the other hand, in addition to many people’s houses, many farms have also been involved in solitary confinement. As a result, there is a possibility that the paternal and hereditary lands will be seized by the innocent people of the area.
However, on behalf of four heirs of a family in a family on the matter, on November 27, deceased Maulana Md Solaiman’s son Alhaji Md. Emranul Haque filed a written complaint to Cox’s Bazar Executive Engineer, Water Development Board. Despite the complaint, the concerned Dhaka Star Company and Star Light Services Ltd.
The company, named by Messrs Aruna Corporation, seized the ancestral property of these innocent people, erected a block on the Khatiyani land with block construction at the site, dragging the red flag and running the construction of the embankment. The surrogate reporter went to the spot and saw the scene. Locals said the land was allegedly created by patriarchal property and khatian . Land is being cultivated by marginal farmers of the area. Many families, including consumers, are producing paddy and greens on the land every season.
In the last 24 years, construction of barricades and blocks was started on the banks of the Matamuhuri River in the area, but recently, the people have been trying to construct barricades on the land of innocent people by crossing certain boundaries.
On the other hand, BWDB has been trying to build barricades and permanent blocks on the Khatiyani land of others, with no recourse to the land, without taking any form of irregularities. RS Khatiyan No 1 and BS Khatiyan No.1 of BS-No.13,122 and Kochpara Mouza of Kochpara Municipality of Chakriya Municipality have found at least one Kani (121 kara) of land lying in the area of some of the land belonging to indoor consumers.
The complainant, Emranul Haque, said he would seek asylum in the High Court if the PUBO or Thikari organizations tried to resume construction of the embankment without any loss. He was contacted by a mobile operator in the Chakoria area of Pueblo to report the matter but it was not found.
The local municipal councilor said that the development work should be governmental and non-governmental, all concerned should follow government rules.
