Eid sales, especially of the kid’s items have marked substantial rise in city’s different shopping malls and makeshifts markets with Eid-ul-Fitr knocking at the door.
The traditional enthusiasm among the children for the festival was very common. Large numbers of children were seen accompanying the elders for buying clothes and toys. Many shopping outlets particularly the ones dealing have come up with different special packages.
Various posh markets including Bashundhara City Shopping Mall, New Marker, Sanmar Ocean City, Ameen Centre, Mimi
Super Market, Afmi Plaza, Central Plaza, Yunusco City Centre, Akhtaruzzaman Centre, Lucky Plaza, Reazuddin Bazar, VIP Tower and Apollo Shopping Centre have been huge customers.
Segeti Haque, a housewife, came with her little baby at City’s Bashundhara City Shopping Mall. “I frequently came at Kids Corner to buy the necessary items for my baby”, she said. A colourful party dress is selling at Tk 1,000 to Tk 1,500, said a salesman of Kids corner.
On the other part, city’s footpath market is also full of dresses of the kid’s. A T- shirt is being sold at Tk 150-250 at markets on streets at Motijhel on Sunday.
