Ingredients :
1 cup rice flour
Asafoetida – 2 generous pinches
Jeera/ sesame seeds – 1 tsp
Besan/ kadalai mavu/ gram flour – 1 & 1/2 tblsp
Pottu kadalai maavu/ roasted gram dal
flour/ Chutneydal flour –
1 & 1/2 tblsp
Butter, softened – 2 tsp
Salt – As required
Oil/butter to fry
Method:
In a mixer, powder pottu kadalai and keep aside.
Eliminate the coarse particles. Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
Mix all ingredients well. After that add water to make a smooth dough.
Make the dough a little tight.
Heat oil/butter in a pan, squeeze the murukku using a the star shaped plate in the press.
Cook in medium flame.
Stir in between and flip the murukkus so that they cook
both sides.
Drain the murukku in paper towel and let it cool
Put it in an airtight container and nibble on it as a great snack.
